I'd like to get the header for my 2002. If I do I will have the flange for the converter cut off and a 3 bolt header flange welded on. This way I could have an after market high flow converter welded to an opposing flange so it bolts right up.

I got my Wildcat extractors on! With the Lukey Turbo muffler it has more power at the lower revs.
Sounds good too.

G'Day Werd,

Congrats on the setup. I am jealous as it is something I have been wanting to do to mine for a while. the rattly exhaust is driving me nuts!

Did you end up replacing the pipe with larger diameter (2 1/4 inch), mandrel bends and hiflow cat?

Cheers, Chris

I stayed with stock pipe. It's correct to say that the motor needs back pressure. Not having a cat for some years and then putting one in, the increase in power was substantial. My mechanic said that there is very little difference between the high flow and standard cat, so I went with standard.
I have to put the heat shield back on, it gets mighty warm in the engine bay. As I have no plastic intake up to the air filter box, sucking in that hot air, I have read, decreases performance. Apart from that the main wiring harness comes out of the firewall right beside it. Only problem with putting the heat shield back on is I am going to have to spot weld a couple of bolts onto the top of the extractors. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Why cut the flange off the extractors? I cringe just to think about doing that. I got a flange made to fit the extractors. With a bit of gasket in between, a couple of slots on the pipe on the opposite end, with a bit of muffler putty and a U bracket, it worked a treat. The stock exhaust pipe fitted inside the 2" pipe nice and snuggly.

That won't be a problem, brakes are on the other side.
