Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hello, I replaced the rotors today and when i put the hubs back on, the right hub seems to put drag on the bearings. if i loosen it up a hair it spins freely. I also noticed a coiled piece on metal inside both the hubs, not sure whats broke inside, They still work, I took it out in the dirt and they lock and unlock. Anyone have a clue whats causing the drag or what the piece of metal is? Thanks Mike

When you had the rotor and hub assemblies off, you put the little spacer washer back on the CV shaft, under the C clip? Are you sure the auto hubs are fully retracting the lock mechanism? They need to be lubed with a light grease, like white lithium. Not really much else...

Not sure what spacer your talking about, everything that came off went back on. I had new rotors put on 2yrs ago (china) and the guy said he packed the bearing for me also, maybe he left something out? but the left side has no drag.

There is a small spacer between the hub and CV axle on the inside of the spindle. On the outside portion of the wheel bearings, you have the adjuster, lock washer and hardware, and the little retaining clip on the CV shaft. Is the wheel loose? If nothing new was added or old lost, shouldn't have any drag issues. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
