Body Damage is Cool
You probably won't rub the 35.5", my 38.5s measure 37" and they rub pretty good. I have a 2" body lift and 2" shackle lift. Cut the fenders and folded pinch welds front and back. Back doesn't rub with 2" extended bump stops, the front rubs though.

here is a pic at full compression up front, I really have to watch which line I pick when I'm going slow

I can get close up pictures of the rub areas if you want them.

Utilitarian is what I'm going for with mine also. The end of the world vehicle. I'm getting a winch, bumpers, stronger roof rack, swingout toolbox, gas cans, etc.

Only problem with skinnys is the potential for severe body damage from trees/rocks/ground/etc rubbing up against the sides of the truck when you are in sticky situations. Wide tires stick out, and keep your body off of that stuff.

I think skinnys with total exo armor would be great.

99.9% of my body damage (not including rocker panel damage) has been because of the skinnys not sticking out. All the dents/scratches/dings in my doors, and the big dent on the back pillar is from leaning up against stuff in nasty situations.

I am going by Interco numbers, and they have the 38.5x15s listed at 38.4". So 35.5" to 38.4" is a 3" difference. If your 38.4"s tape measure to 37" my 35.5"s will be around 34" (and that means my 34"s are around 33").

Speaking of tools and such I have a lot of stuff in the back, I need to come up with a more efficient in place storage system. Right now I am looking for NATO Jerry cans to fuel so I am not lugging around a plastic jug anymore. My list of stuff for this truck keeps growing, and the money doesn't.
