I like Toyota a lot, better than most.
I don't believe the 3.0 will give that much more drive ability. And I'm not familiar with the rest of the line from Toyota.

4X4 is a must. I like locking my hubs. Not crazy about automatics but I'm open.

Actually I'm open to most anything. This is all uncharted territory for me. Living in California eliminates meaningful engine swaps.
I want something more with out giving up anything I now have. Is the quality of the Tacoma as good as what I have now? Do I need to stay away from automatic trannys?
Is the running gear as good?
I tried to pull up a small bush with my pickup on asphalt and all tires left rubber. It was in low range.

Help me out here.
