Yes, I am shouting.
I went to change the spark plugs and discovered that the plastic connector on the ignition leads that plug into the coil packs had deteriated so much so, that when I went to unplug it, the plastic just crumpled into little pieces.
Contacted the stealership and they inform me that they only sell the WHOLE wiring harness for a $AUD1000
So I pull the wires out of the coil packs so I can wrap some electrical tape around them and realise that I didn't take note of which colour goes where. Stupid!
There are four wires: the two short wires are blue and white. The two long wires are blue and green.
Which one goes where? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Got this off the Kia Tech Info website.
The only problem is that this diagram has different colour wires.

Stealership doesn't know what they're talking about. I bought the wires I needed from the local Kia dealer for about $30 US. I'll get the part number for you when I get home later today.

2001 Sportage, TJ 106's, Everet spacers and bumpstops, Bilstein shocks on the rear, cone filter, Crager wheels, 235-75-15 Goodyear tires. Custom front winch bumper by Dave Scott. Currently DOA, but it is a work in progress.

I don't believe it actually makes a difference. With our wasted spark system, there is a spark plug attached to each end of the secondary coil. The primary and secondary coils are both isolated, so no danger of causing a short by misconnecting the wires. Both plugs will see the ignition pulse regardless of the polarity of the primary coil, so you should be able to connect the wires either way.

01 Convertible; Electric Fan; 3" Up Your Kia lift spacers; Tj 104's; 31x10.5x15's on Centerlines; Rear LSD.
GONE, all I have left are a few spare parts and the wheels.

x2 on that. I don't BELIEVE reversing the plugs will matter.

Part number is 27310 2Y052
Part name: Wiring Assy - Ignition Coil

This is from the Kia Motors Genuine Parts label.

and if they give you any grief let me know and I can go get one and ship it to you. It weighs about 5 ounces so it wouldn't be a whole heckuva lot for shipping.

After 4 hours of googling (not kidding), I found some info:

The blue wire is the constant power to charge the coil, the white and green wires get their signal from the ECU which sends pulses to the coil to make it fire. Looking at the front coil, the blue goes on the drivers side, the other on the passenger side. I did the same for the back coil, but around the other way because the coil is facing opposite to the front. After wrapping some electrical tape around the metal connectors and plugging the connections with some silicon, it's up and running.

After having a satisfying nights sleep, I agree with you about not mattering which way the connections go. A pity I didn't get your posts before I had wasted the time.
Thank you to all. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Homerdog, did you get the part number from an online source?
This would be a very useful link to post on the forum.
