Hey man, i just started working on an 89, and the wipers were all messered up when i got to working on it. I went to replace the motor (super easy, i thinks its three 10mm bolts), but when i got the motor loose, and tried it out with no load, worked great. Turned out the wiper arm assembly was rusty on the pass side, so i replaced the assembly from my parts rig, and voila! The assembly replacement took a bit longer and more tools, cussing and wrench tossing. If you happen to have big hands, rent the neighbor kid. Once i got it all back together, the delay wiper cntroller was out of whack, took a minute for that to catch its groove. Now i just have to adjust those wiper arms up a couple nothces and it should be good to go. Best of luck to you on your project...
