I just got back from a week of vacation on the big island of Hawaii. I've never seen so many lifted Tacomas all in one place in my life! It became pretty funny that everywhere you look, there's another lifted Tacoma. There were very few with a winch or rock sliders and a relatively small percentage with an aftermarket bumper. But most have to have a lift. The few winches I saw all had roller fairleads with metal cable, which makes sense for the sharp lava. I figure the lava is tough on tires.

Anyone have a theory why Hawaiian's love lifted Tacoma's so much?

Are there many fun trails there? I noticed a couple trails near the coast on old jagged lava north of Kona.
