I know how it is Frank, but I may have found a new daily in the Starion I bought. Are you going to part it out or take the motor and crush the rest?

Don't know yet - I'm way too busy right now to deal with building another truck.

Humm, Mighty Max turbo cruiser. they are lighter and more efficient than the SWB, besides you have a great SWB already.

Awfully tempting, Charlie. I don't know how I'd like the Max turbo with a M/T, though. A couple of questions:

1) The 2.0L in the truck is a narrow block - will the wideblock 2.6L drop into the mounts?

2) I'd need another transmission. I suppose I could change the column and make it an A/T, right?

Yes the 2.6 will set right in. The 2.0 mount brackets happen to be the same as one of the 2.6 brackets.

I presume the problem with the Starion transmission is with the tail housing getting damaged due to seizure of the output yolk?
Either way the shifter of the pickup should be swapped onto the Starion box to get fit the chassis properly. Whether it be that transmission or a later one.
Your choice as far as Auto or manual, the Starion automatic is not a bad choice as well.

Thanks. I don't know what happened to the transmission - supposedly, the drive shaft came loose or broke and damaged the transmission. I haven't looked under it yet, but I did try to move it and all I heard when I let out the clutch was clankety-clank - it wouldn't move.

What about the AW-372L? If I use a 2.6L A/T bellhousing, will it fit in the truck?

Frank

You might find the coupler in the nose of the diff has failed.
That transmission should be fine.

try starquestclub.com for all the info u will ever need on that Quest engine and what you will need for the swap.
The swap you are wanting to do is common and they have vendors etc that can supply you with all you need to bolt that engine up to your truck tranny. But I am thinking its a nearly direct bolt.
The auto's in the conquest/starions are POS.They will not handle alot of power.
go check it out.
