I like that motor. Something about a big old undersquare motor turning 8k is a rib tickler. I know what you mean about the immediacy of the throttle response. When it swapped the two carb manifold and 44idf webers onto the FIat 1800cc 1608cc motor in place of the progressive 2bbl weber, throttle control became like turning a vernier rheostat. You could balance the car in the corner like the difference between iron sights and a Zeiss rifle scope. The progressive throttle was slow and notchy in comparison. The webers were as close as you could get to fuel injection.
