The 3.8 motor in the 03 and up is actual "Mitsubishi" not Dodge like the former year models.

Yea never seen any year Montero that came with with a Dodge engine...Dont know where that came from

The only Mitsubishi that has a Dodge engine is the Raider. Mitsubishi Raider that is. Mitsubishi Raider

Woah woah... I beg your pardons, oh thou who art more informed. I must have understood this wrong. Or more likely confusing all the Isuzu Troopers I have owned, some of them had GM engines??

So do all Montero models 1985-2003 4 cyl, 3.0 and 3.5 have "Mitsubishi" Engines? I knew Mitsu and Dodge shared alot of the same stuff but I guess I don't understand exactly how and when. I had heard many of the dodge minivans shared some of the same engines as the Montero, and most dodge mini vans of the same era seem to be a big piece a shiz. Figured since Gen II's almost always have major engine issues as well that must be because its dodge, ha. That's what I get for making assumptions. Do clarify if you can, I'm curious.
