I've had my '02 since '03. It had 23k on it, and I'm up to 112k now.
I have only great things to say about my Gen III.
We were looking for an around the town, hauling up to seven person rig; however, it needed to have a good 4x4 set up for back country expeditions.
The Monty was, and is, the perfect fit for our needs.
The off-roading capabilities have never let us down. High speed desert runs are amazing with the front and rear IS. I've driven it in most terrains. The big exception is serious rock crawling. Works great in snow, but I usually end up slapping the chains on when it gets up towards the CV joints (feels like your not hammering the rig as much to me with chains).
I would suggest following the service schedule if you do end up purchasing one.
Good Luck
