Does the XLS have as an option leather interior and heated butt warmers, or is this only in a Limited?

My M-I-L's is an 02 XLS with leather and heated seats. IIRC it was optioned in the XLS and standard in the Limited, but I may be wrong.

Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

IIRC, you're right. Optional leather in the XLS and standard in the Limited.

I'd love to have a Gen4 Pajero Di-D, but they more than likely would command about $45,000-$55,000 at today's rates. Hell, my 01 Limited stickered for near $37,000!

I'd be happy with a 3.2 Di-D in my 01.

We own an 01 XLS since brand spanking new and zero miles and by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. It is not used for off road but it has not let us down when we took it to our beach vacations and sand was the obstacle. Neither let us down during the the ice and snow storms here in the good ol' south (GA). My neighbors were <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> when we went up and down our street with no problems.

We love it.

Just returned from a business trip to the UK. Oh I wish we could get some of the vehicles in Europe. Defender D90 w/TDi would sure be nice.

Well I'm still searching for a Gen 3:
narrowed it down to '03 or newer XLS 3.8l, rear LSD.
XLS with heated leather would be preferred, but not a must. I could retrofit heated leather Limited seats. Red, Blue or Black w/ Tan interior. If anybody comes upon one, please let me know. No problem flying out to a nice vehicle.

man, you just missed a sweet black one on ebay fully outfitted with lift, ARB bumper, ARB locker. Cloth seats, 03 I think w only 60K miles. It went for $12K something. What does the XLS have the Limited Doesn't? What is your price range?

i moved from a gen2 to a gen3.

the gen2 is softer on gravel but everywhere else the gen3 is better as far as road handling, comfort, economy etc.

I also think the gen2 is more capable offroad but I don't need hectic offroad capabilities so the gen3 suits me fine with it's LSD and rear difflock.

The gen3 is also 4 star euro ncap with airbags, ABS and better crumple zones.

Editing again.
Changing wanted vehicle to '03 Limited. Why? I want leather and heated seats. Researched at Edmunds and doesn't look like there is an option for leather in an XLS. '03 was the last year for an XLS also. Really want 16" wheels and not 17" however and it looks like that changed in '05 so '05 and newer is out. I do not want TPMS which became standard in '04.

I'll be keeping my Gen 1 for offroad duties.

Test drove an '03 Limited today. Black w/ Black leather. 118K miles $10,500.00 OK truck - but over priced in my opinion. Mitsu dealership and wouldn't budge on the price - said they had 2 offers working on financing. Carfax says no timing belt change that I can see. 3rd owner. I'm in North Dakota this weekend so it has a little rust on some chips and under. Not impressed. It did drive nice however. Need to keep searching... Would prefer to be in the $8k range with a new timing belt and 80K miles
