You're correct. 4WP acquired Smittybilt several years ago.


I have a Warn 8274. It's at least 30 years old, if not older. I horse-traded for it. I've spent $95 on 100' of 3/8" cable and $60 on a few replacement parts for it. It's a horse of a winch and has never failed to pull out whatever it's been hooked to. One winching episode involved me having to chain the back of my truck to 2 trees so I could pull a 3/4 ton Suburban out of muck up to its doors. The 8274 made a couple groaning complaints, then hunkered down and did its business.

If you shop C/L and ebay, you'll find them out there. Parts are readily available and they're easily fixed.
