Yeah, this is the one I got from you three or four summers ago. I don't remember at all what you told me about it. It's just been sitting in my shop since then. I've finally decided I don't have time to do what I wanted with it, which was to try to combine it with the turbo parts from a VR4 engine.

Any info you can give is appreciated.

Thanks,

Tommy

I think you have the original gauge cluster for the truck but i think the engine had around 130k miles on it. Just before it got parted out (insurance totaled Hit below the rear driverside door + bent rear axle). Me and a mechanic friend did Timing belt, tensioner, water pump, timing pullies, Denso Irdium plugs, wires. I'm not 100% but i remember resealing a bunch of things we found that the previous owner had sealed with Red RTV, it's been a while but i think we re sealed the valve covers, front cam plugs and front main seal. We used Hylomar because i Hate RTV for anything but oil pans, diffs and t-cases. It has no lower intake butterfly valves and I don't recall it needing valve stem seals YET but do them just because it would be easier with the engine out. BUT for the price it might be worth it to have the heads re done with the updated valve seals and lifters just because the new style lifters and valve seals are much much better but that's just my opinion on these DOHCs in general.

I don't know what was done before i got the truck but the previous owner did some work and i felt it was sloppy so i tried to find and re do anything that was slathered in red RTV. The dealer for unknown reasons did rings and bearings at 60k under warranty and that's all i know about its time before i owned it and i only owned it for a year or so.
Good engine at a killer price <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
