Btw, be sure to read the FAQ thread at the top of the forum. You'd already know about the downloadable manuals if you had.

Is the wheel spindle hagging down ?...If so ...Try jacking the truck up from the a-arm ...Not the frame ...Try installing the ring with the truck on the ground with the tire on ...Try driving it some in 4x4 with no hubs installed ...Just up and down the street ...

There any chance the ring/washer on the back of the inner bearing is on backwards? It has a depression on one side but not the other.

It can be seen in this picture. It is the gold/brass colored ring pushed up against the cv.

Sorry for the confusion. My bad. The snap ring that I am having trouble with is on the right end in this photo:

Body Damage is Cool
I have never had an issue with that one. if you have a large pair of slip joint (channel lock) pliers line it up and let leverage do the rest. I will say there is the potential to spring off, but it should go on easily.

The jack stand is under the a-arm so it is fairly horizontal.
I never thought of driving it. Thanks for the idea I will if I can't get anything else figured out.

Thanks for the feedback. I must have a issue somewhere cause I basically did that and it doesn't find the groove.

That is a great observation. That is the first thing I am going to look for. I remember trying to remember which way it was supposed to go. The crazy thing is that ring is not in any exploded view. The photos here are awesome.
