Something (or someone) has gotten ahold of that clear-coat. I'm around vehicles from the south and southern beaches all the time. I can't think of any place that gets a worse sun beating in summer than Augusta. That clear-coat damage is most likely the result of an overly aggressive numb-nut with a buffer. I've seen that happen a lot.

As to the seat, I'd guess someone who's 4'5" and heavy was getting in and out...frequently.

Figure $200 for the seat repair and at least $1,500 - 2,000 for a paint job.
