Hello again, on my recently purchased 1998 Montero the heated front seats are not working. Just about everything else on the vehicle works (including the rear flashlight!) Is there a fuse somewhere or do the elements themselves just give out? Thanks

In case you don't get a quick reply try checking the owners manual, fuse box cover, or download the factory service manual (mitsubishilinks dot com) & check there. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I will download the service manual, my diagram atop the fuse box cover is no longer legible, and the truck didn't come with any documentation whatsoever. Thanks

What flashlight are you talking about? Where is it supposed to be located?

I also have a 98 montero. Are the seats original? I had a 95 leather seat in mine and the seat looked exactly the same but the seat itself wasn't headed. There is a black 4 wire plug under the seat that attaches to the heater coils in the seat. Thats how i finally figured it out on mine. I just found a 98 montero here in Orlando FL. and swapped out a ton of stuff. Including a new HEATED seat. If you need any other small things you may want or need, shoot me an email.

THanks, they are the original factory heated seats. I will check all the connections again, see if power is making it past the switch. And as to the flashlight- mine is in the cargo area, driver side rear. Attaches in a little cubby with a magnet and gets its power via the 12 volt lighter outlet back there.

I haven't ever owned one of the plug in lights, but I do have the battery powered one that fits in the tool compartment in the cargo door. One-upper...mine has Mitsubishi double-A batteries, too, although I doubt they work and I don't keep them in the flashlight. Just showing off.

My light is the size of a #2 pencil, rides in by left shirt pocket, uses 4A batteries, and the in use mounting bracket is my pie hole, with the aim under perfect remote control...
