The driver's side one is a Pitman arm. It attaches directly to the bottom of the steering box. The idler arm is on the passenger side and serves as the 'balancing force' that the steering control rod hangs from. From there, both sides have an inner and outer tie rod to connect to the individual front wheels for steering control. John B.
