So it appears no one gets a 3 day weekend? I have been in industries that take off standard holidays for a couple of decades, so I dont even think about it. Then two items. First, it sounds like I now should not come until Friday. If I get there around 5:00 or so would there be some manpower available Friday evening to start? My second question is can we get this done over a weekend? And do we have enough help for Saturday and Sunday?

I work Friday as well, but I can just hand you a spare key so you can come and go as you please if you're here.

Lloyd, you've set an ambitious schedule, but I think maybe there hasn't been a clear blueprint for what you expect to get done.
There's an engine that needs to be removed and another one that needs to be installed, right? That being a straight swap, is the replacement engine ready to go in or does it require any maintenance work first? Will the "new" engine need to be mounted on a stand for any length of time?
You're looking to have a body lift installed, too, right? That's pretty straight-forward.
Sliders need to be welded on?
What else?

That about summarizes it John.
1. Engine Swap 2. Body Lift 3. Sliders
The engine needs the crank bolt installed, and maybe seals looked at, but that should be it. So it is essentially ready to go in. It is a long block( has all other components on it) Oh, and the oil pan needs swapped due to damage sometime in the past?? No hole, but still a nice crunch. On the vehicle the radiator is out and re-done, the fan is off, ect. Skid plates are off on the bottom. So it should go fairly quick.
As far as any less important things? Cut off the rear sway bar which is unbolted and hanging. Replace the rear passenger slider window someone shot out. I dont believe there is more time then that in any stretch of the immagination...If there is I can find stuff <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> Probably frame tank raise would be a back up item if we were swimming in time, as it requires little in the way of parts expenditures.
I guess time frame is Friday 5:30-12:00am??? Saturday 8:30-9:00???? Sunday 8:30-1:00???(try to head home at a reasonable time)
I hate to say it but I just dont know times on engine or body lift work like you guys do. A 4cyl 20 years ago is about all I have swapped....Maybe you guys could throw out some guesses to refine the estimated schedule ???

Well I can get the fender mud guards and rear sway bar cut off in a half hour, cut the rear quarter panels and lift the tank in 3 hours, body lift is usually 2 hours, sliders will be 5 hours maybe less. These times include the standard BSing.

Hey I have a dumb question: should this work be done inside garage or in driveway? i might have to spend this evening cleaning the garage, and stuff.

I'll be available to help out on Sunday, possibly for a few hours on Saturday also but that's looking kinda dubious at this point.

Some calls are being made behind the scenes, but we are considering holding off until next weekend for more manpower....If it works out better......

We have officially cancelled for this weekend for more manpower. We are seriously considering next weekend. But let me throw out 3 dates so we can see if one weekend or another works better for the majority. April 30th, May 14th, or May 21st. Thanks.

Bummer. One RyanY is worth three of me.
I'm fine with all the above dates.
