That's awesome!! I'll second that! Wish I could have been there too, but had to spend the weekend out at Lake Pleasant showing people the new kayaks we had out at Paddlefest. I guess when you play with more than one vehicle type, choices will be forced to be made from time to time.

We did not work on the rig, we simply had a party It was already decided rather then spending a long weekend killing ourselves everyone would just work on it over the summer, then I will fly back and pick it up.
I have thought of mixed 4x4 river trips in the past, but the concept never matured. Maybe some day....

What day is good for some of us to do the body lift and pull the engine? It's time to circle the wagons on this.

I don't have anything scheduled (yet) for next weekend, the 28th-29th. I'd be up for some wrenching.

I was planning on Fo wheelin that weekend, but if everybody wants to do some wrenching on lloyds ride I am down. I'll bring the sawzall, I kid lloyd! No, for real, if we are gonna circle the wagons at wench's house than lets do it. We need to get this shiz going, we only have 14 months and a few days till the next departure for the sierra's. I started saving my pennys. We are gonna have a blast. Maybe me and pat can listen to more than just 3 cds for this trip.

First off, Pa_J, spend $100 and get an in-dash unit that plays MP-3 discs. You can cram 140 songs on one (your mileage may vary).
Second, we can still fo' wheel, we just have to get a couple of things going for Lloyd. How about starting with the body lift? That'll make other things easier. Maybe from there, a gas tank lift and quarter panel cut - yea, sawzall after all. Plan to cut panels for capping off the bottom of the cut off quarter panels, too. A scroll saw would be handy for that, in case anyone has one.
From there, the sliders can go on and get painted afterwards.
These are things I can actually help with, plus, not everyone needs to be there for them, except Toasty, because just about everything I listed involves him welding, not that others can't do it, I just know he's got the welding feva'. I presume WrenchWench can weld, too??
Anyway, Saturday is at least possible for me. I may take Hope to Rocky Point for the rest of the weekend, or maybe to Copper Creek for camping. If you've never been to Copper Creek, it's by Mammoth, AZ, SE of Superior. Very isolated, no facilities. We had a trip planned out that way, but somebody had to have a full size truck rear end them and we didn't go. Kidding.
Keep up the ideas!

The welding and fab work is stacking up for me, we are talking bumpers too. I've got; quarter panel and front mud guard chop, gas tank lift, weld on sliders, modify front and rear frame ends for bumpers, make bumpers, winch plate and front skid and i like to do these things at my house so i can work on it every weekend easily. I will only need a helper for some of it.
Let's start with getting a few dudes to do the body lift this coming weekend, it'll only take a few hours (I did both mine in 2.5 hours each roughly). This will make the engine swap easier, I think PA_JERO is gonna lead the engine swap part of the job. We need to re gasket some of the new engine before we swap, like the oil pan and do the cam plugs/valve covers and we might as well re seal everything on the back side just because like the rear main and water pipe.
I don't know what next weekend is gonna look like for me because i should be moving into the new house plus i want to hit the trail on saturday but we'll see as the weekend get's closer.
