I'm going to start early sunday morning, planning on 8am. I'm gonna try to circle the wagons for saturday by sending out a wrenching text. I won't be there saturday though, I'm still working on moving.

I'll start the sunday shift, I want to inspect the dead engine and maybe try to see if it's fixable before we pull it. Anybody want to do the bodylift on saturday? The crank does not turn, I assure you of that. Unless something other then a completely seized engine can cause that.....Either way, significant issue I would emagine. Journals looked dry, like maybe the oil pump failed ?? I will keep an eye on this string for updates and web cam details, but PLEASE, no porn! Looks like I will be just hanging around this weekend except a trip to the office to sell junk Sat afternoon. Good luck and thanks!

Cam is live, no idea if it'll stay that way, I just figured I would stick the laptop out there and see if it works... should have no reason to move it or shut it off
I won't be sitting in the chat room to moderate it but there won't be any pr0n issuing forth from my cam.

Cool idea. I'm sure I'll be one many checking in from time to time to see the progress.
Lloyd:
I'm going to be up your way Wed-Fri of next week. Know of any Montero's with lockers that are on the market up there? I've been checking CL within a 500 mile radius of Phoenix, but no luck yet.

Keep in mind the prior owner did a timing belt,(shade tree mechanic used) it ran for a week or 1.5wks or so, if I remember correctly, then lost power. Now, lost power sounds a far cry from a seized engine which is a horrible experience. So, either the guy was lieing(which I think) or something from the timing belt change did go wrong, in which case something in the top end could be jammed.
Keep in mind it also has a new belt, water pump, ect. So the extra engine should be a gold mine of spare parts for your stocks. Just use what ever looks best on the project. A spare engine would be nice, but I am dubious.
Anyhow, I will check in on you guys time to time and make sure the sawz alls stay low on the body

Hmmm, let me check. I have not been paying attention. If I see something hot I will check it out and let you know. Give me a call and lets plan to meet up regardless, especially if anything needs transported back to Phoenix for the project.

I see a cream puff 99 at a stealer, but they want like 8K, and frankly with 115K they might get it. Photo clearly shows locker switch and warning sticker. Keep in mind 99 requires a gear change to be drivable off-road. I also see a 97, but would have to call. Are you wanting a DOHC or will a SOHC work? Have a price range?

Sounds bad on that engine, I was hoping it was just locked up for some reason and that reason could be a broken flexplate or starter misalignment. From what you're saying i think it's toast, but i'll still give it a look over just in case it's something really stupid.
