And WHY didn't you guys listen when EVERYONE says the valve spring compressor is pretty specific to this engine?

Oh, I read the warnings on the valve spring compressor, I just didn't think I was going to be the one to purchase it. Heck, I didn't even know I'd be working on this engine until a couple days ago.

I will need it at some point, so it's no sweat off my back, but I had a large "c" style compressor that on a whim I ran back home to see if it would work. It didn't of course, but it didn't hurt to try. We don't even have the seals yet, so not a big deal. It's handled. I know mxmikie offers one for rent, but being in Quartzsite, it's not the most convenient location when it's needed. Driving 30 miles locally to loan/rent a tool is a little easier to do than 150 miles. Especially at these gas prices. And if you have a working engine.

That was an admonishment directed at Pa_Jero, mainly. He needs that tool badly himself. He needed it before he installed his 3.5 (and I TOLD him he needed to do the seals before he installed it...it would have been much easier...but NOOOOO!).

We'll all need it eventually. Mine does not smoke at 180,000 miles...yet.

You need two of those o-rings, too, by the way.

UPS is a wonderful thing. Sorry. I'm in a hotel room tonight, and I don't have anything better to do than b!tch about things.

Do I need the Spark plug hole gaskets or intake surge tank. Also, I see you listed came shaft seals and ends, so I need both?

See, I wasn't sure about the spark plug hole gaskets. I just put the part number just in case since I was looking stuff up. It seemed logical to have to replace them, but I'm not sure. Intake surge tank is the intake to head gasket from what I can tell. PAJ took the whole intake off without separating them so the intermediate gaskets aren't needed. But I would talk to him before ordering to make sure. I would think if we are replacing cam seals we would want to do both front and back. PAJ said they were pretty beat up so maybe he will chime in here. I didn't inspect the passenger side, but the drivers side were pretty dry.

Two separate part numbers that I have:

MD150785 is the rear cam plugs. Need four.

MD152603 is the front cam oil seal. Need four as well.

Ok, I guess plenum gasket is the only question...
