I think the justice 3.5's lower plenum is still functioning. I've only had the plenum off once though so now I really cant remember.

Toast, If we need to tow lloyds truck to your house to further some of this stuff then let me know when you want to do it. I more than likely can tow it. We just bought a new trailer for the CAT and we can nicely place a montero on top of it instead if we have to.

Damn you guys, I don't check up on this thread for several days and I miss all kinds of sh**!

It may be too late now that the parts have been ordered but I've got a handful of gaskets and seals for that motor - not sure exactly what I have at the moment, I'd have to crawl up in the attic to get them down & take a look. I'll contribute whatever I have to the cause.

Also, have you thought about replacing the VLA's with the updated, larger oil hole versions while it's apart? I thought I remembered them being available on EBay for about $60/set - cheap insurance against the dreaded lifter tick. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

One more thing - is the disabled lower intake plenum going back on? I'd think twice about getting a working one on there somehow if it can be done without paying retail for a new one.

Thanks for the parts offer. Maybe they could use a few to keep going, and the ones I ordered could replace stock. We do have the updated VLA kit already. Not sure about the Butterfly situation. Seems there is some talk of a repair being attempted....Otherwise for 376.00 I dont think I will be spending right now during un-employment.

I don't think the engine is gonna take a whole lot to put back together, I think It should go together in about a day or two.

That IS strange that there's no part number listed for a gasket for either portion of the oil pan. ASA just shows the RTV stuff in a reference.

Another option for the truck would be to install the finished engine in the truck and drive it over to Toasty's. Of course, the transfer case would also have to be available, and I don't know what all is going on there. Just thought I'd mention it, though.

I haven't taken my lower plenum anywhere to be looked at yet, but I'll keep everybody posted on what I find out.

I think if adam needs us to move it locations then maybe we should move it. This way he can keep moving on the fab work while the engine is getting its proper preparation. We also need to get that front axle out and get that ARB installed.

When I replace the lower plenum, I'm just installing it as is. The butterfly valves are eliminated and should keep any issues out of the way. If lloyd decides to pay out the cash for the updated plenum later down the road then it will benifit him but for now, we can roll the way it is.

I'm also not real sure whats up with the transfer case. I helped pat remove the speedo deal from the tail housing but I'm not real sure what else needs to be done to it. I'm sure we need to make a parts run to the junk yard for some miscellaneous items for it maybe.

Here's what I've got - all new Mitsubishi parts:
valve stem seals, (all 24)
valve cover seals (outer perimeter rubber gaskets and plug holes)
4 seals I believe to be cam seals (MD177097 I think)
crankshaft seal? (MD372249 - to busy to look it up right now)
1 unidentified gasket

We are doing a junkyard front diff for the 4:88s? And to get rid of the vacuum actuator....Oh, I am sure you guys have it under control <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> I hope you do, I am trail rig less once again.

We have to hit the yard to get all the stuff for Kevins SAS, We are on the lookout for your diffs and Aisin hubs though Lloyd. We found an 84 D50 but it had Auto hubs and the front diff we want for your truck will be 4.90 out of a AWD Montero Sport. Keep a lookout in your area too Lloyd, your target price is around $150 for the complete front axle housing. If you find a good deal on a complete housing out of a 4x4 sport that will work too and we can just disable the vacuum [censored].

Or you could set back the completion time and we could just SAS, I mean you already have a non slipyoke transfer case, you need custom driveshafts and you are regearing axles. If only we could find a complete 70's Ford 4x4 radius arm suspension at pick a part. Not like it's a huge deal at this point.
