I will check around here. What year Sports are talking? As far as SAS, you have a point. Now it would mean a likely cancellation of October for me, now that the X is gone. Might add a little cost with steering components, heavy duty axles, ect. If you guys are up for the work, I have nothing to loose. I just want to make sure it will handle well on those long drives to the Sierras.....
1996 SR From the Area 51 Skunk Works. 37"BFG Tires, 5" lift, Rock Track 4:1 Case, Tom Woods Drive Shafts, Oasis Air, Front ARB, lifted gas tank, T-max winch and lots of stuff that cost too much.

As long as the diff is 4.90 it will be the right one, the smaller axles have different ratios. Look for '00 on for the best chances of finding a AWD.

As for SAS, first we'd need to source an early Bronco or Jeep TJ front suspension on the cheap then you'd need to sell your RD110 to one of us who doesn't already have a locker. Then you'd need gears, locker (unless you sourced Rubicon D44) and Spindles to go Chevy 6 lug which will add a half inch to your WMS/WMS. These days you can make a D44 pretty stout with RCVs and stuff. The other option is full custom axle, Trailgear has some good ones Rock Assult But then you're looking at getting a 3 link and custom suspension either from them or somebody local to us (I know some people). So we can stick with the plan which we know is good or we could SAS with a factory setup from another truck if we can find one and that would be better or do the H-CORE thing and go unbreakable. You could also do an SAS later trucks are cool like that

I am going to suggest not biting off a SAS at this time.. you can always do it later if you want to but it seems smarter to focus on getting this thing working first, then do fancy stuff later.
Hey if you're going to relocate the truck to somewhere else, would it be wise to put the big tires on since they won't fit inside? I can do that so it's all ready to go, or whatever works for you guys.

I like the way this is going, I think lloyd needs an SAS on this truck. If we are gonna do it, I say we go big or go home fellas! I think if the truck is gonna be built for punishment, we hold no limits! Granted I am not the welder, so its not really up to me. But I have no problem lending my hand to this. And If we move it over to toasts house Its alot easier for me to get over there. Ryan, how much do you want for all of that stuff you just posted. I REALLY need those items? I will also send you a PM.

I would wait on the sas too. Having said that, there is a bronco with the needed parts here in Wittmann he would let them go cheap, they are very rusty though. I have a trailer too. To bad I am so far away. Keep up the good work.

If you go with the sport diff, can I call dibs on the one you take out, Mine is 4.6 gears and the carrier is messed up, meaning I cant get it to stop leaking out the drivers side. Sorry, carry on...

OH, I see the method behind your madness! You don't want the SAS swap to happen because you want a new carrier!!! J/K I know the SAS is a bit of a battle but its not impossible. I think with a few extra hands toasty can pull if off better than most. Plus, we now know where the parts are. I don't mind going to pick them up. Just Sayin!

Valve spring compressor and spark plug air adapter showed up on my door step today. Ready on the tool front. Now I just got to put my engine back together, or at least the timing belt to relieve my cam tools of their current duty.
