I got an automated confirmation today that my engine parts have been shipped from Mitsubishi Parts <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> Those guys are a piece of work <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

Tell me about it, Lloyd. I have two orders in with them, placed about a week apart. I called the other day to check on the older one, and was told it was in. The guy noticed I had another order and asked if I wanted to wait and have them shipped together, which I said was fine.

The next day I got a tracking number...for the first order only.

If not for the prices, I'd say they are the worst. But then, there's the prices.

First order of business, once I get my parts, is getting the rear control arm bushings pressed in. It's really annoying having loose ones (don't start with the smart remarks, here). We should check Lloyd's truck to see how those look, especially as he needs this truck to travel at speed on the highway to get out of N.M. to reach REAL wheeling...

Two snaps up in z formation!

After flying over NM for years, there has got to be some cool wheeling just west of ABQ. I have seen so many areas that look like a cool "drive to, camp and drink beer" places from the air. It can't be all that bad. Certainly no AZ, but looks cool from the air.

Let's wheel a dormant volcano!!

Lloyd used to have lots to say about how bad NM wheeling blew. Of course, he doesn't drink beer and he likes serious, body panel warping, tie rod breaking wheeling, too, so there you go.

I lived in ABQ for a couple of years. Loved it and it took me a year to get over getting transferred back to PHX. At least in ABQ you start out the day at 5000' elevation, about the same as Denver. On the east end of town the sheer face of the mountains jump another 5K and there's a ski area on the back side. It's an incredible place.

Dormant? Let's go for 'live' volcano.

I worked in ABQ a total mass of time over the past few years of 12 months, so I'm pretty familiar myself. Never got a chance to wheel there since I never had the time or the vehicle to do so. Don't care for the town so much, since I've had some unsavory experiences there.(chalk silhouette outside one of my job sites on the SW side) But it has my favorite Chinese restaurant out of all of the cities I have traveled to in recent years (Carlisle & Canderlaria). Plus countless hours and dollars spent at Doc & Eddy's. And TD's but that's another story.

I do agree the Sandias mountains are a site to see. Especially when snow dusted during the fall months while still wearing short sleeves down by the river. (Not in a van). And the views at night in Rio Rancho overlooking the city are awesome. I've taken the tram up the west face of the Sandias, and driven up the east, and helped a heep guy get his crappy stock weber carb working right to get down the east side. If there weren't so may houses on the west side there would be some awesome opportunities to get into some tricky situations. I only wish I could get some more time outside of work to explore more.

I think for live volcanos we may have to ship our rigs to Hawaii. Come to think of it, that wouldn't suck at ALL..

I was into exploring off-road on motorcycles before I got into 4WD's, and a lot of time was spent south of Tramway and I-40 (I think) near the A/F base before it was suburbanized.

I think we ought to drive one-way to Costa Rica and establish camp there, permanently. This keeps things on topic..right, Lloyd?
