The bumper and front frame are welded! Still needs to be ground clean and bumper hoops made and mounted. Bumper is welded with 71M which is what you weld buildings, bridges and Heavy equipment with. Almost to AWS standards but it would pass inspection regardless

Stitch welded to keep any warpage to a minimum

Boogered this weld a little when a spark went in my shoe, I know i should have cut it apart and re did it but I don't care if people rag on my welds

Internal frame work in case .250 wall DOM tubing isn't enough to murder the rock blocking Lloyds path

Overall, It looks stupid big in the pictures but i assure it's the correct size

Winch Box, I used Standard MIG L56 for this due to the gauge of steel the montero frame is made from.

Lookin' good Toasty! Your so called "boogered welds" are still better than most, and certainly better than my bubble gum and shoe glue looking welds. Wish I had that skill.

Did you save your templates? I want one.

Looks awesome toasty. If I could weld like that I wouldn't burn up so many HF grinders when I make mine.

Thanks, if you grind a lot look into Metabo grinders. Definitely the best grinders ever made, I used to burn up Milwaukee and Dewalt grinders weekly just grinding to prep for whatever welding i would be doing. I got tired of going into home depot for warranty all the time and carrying 2 grinders everywhere. My Metabo is going on 6 years an it works like new still and that's being used heavily almost every day.

Russel found his hubs again this weekend,(after a 10yr search) so I am wiring money today. I guess that is progress

We're moving the truck next weekend to Kevin's to get the engine installed. Pat said once the engine is in he can install the T-case (can't do it now because there's nothing to really hold the transmission other than it's mount).
