We're moving the truck next weekend to Kevin's to get the engine installed. Pat said once the engine is in he can install the T-case (can't do it now because there's nothing to really hold the transmission other than it's mount). Hell yeah! I am pretty useless with this stuff but do you still need the oil pan from the old engine? Or other parts? Or the hoist? I am back in town for a short while, probably.

Oh, it will work, but you'll have to crank it by hand.

After the last time I took my trailer hitch off, I noticed that at least one more of my bolts won't hold in the threads. That makes at least two that aren't holding, so I'm reluctant to want to try to pull a trailer to get the rest of the stuff out of WW's garage.
Should I drill out the holes and re-tap them to a larger size? If I do that, I'll probably have to drill larger holes in the hitch, too, and I don't have a drill press to accomplish that.
Or, does anyone nave an idea of how to do it differently? Can a plate with sufficient thickness be welded on top of the one already there, drilled and tapped for the stock sized bolts?

Man... sorry to hear about the threads - hopefully you can come up with a suitably safe fix! Meanwhile, I have a hitch if you have a trailer... call or txt me to organize if we need to move things around.

Or, does anyone nave an idea of how to do it differently? JB, what you could do is drill out the mount slightly, and try to insert a grade 8 bolt from the backside of the mount. Then use a lockwasher and nylon locking nut to attach the hitch. Food for thought... Speaking of food, Happy Thanksgiving!

Have a great Thanksgiving, and make sure before you start cooking, the Trash Can Turkey is thawed!

try to insert a grade 8 bolt from the backside of the mount. No way. There isn't even enough room to get a nut in there, let alone a bolt. If I could even get a nut between the hitch mounting plate and the tube part of the frame I'd be O.K., but that's not possible, as far as I can tell. No cooking on my part, Lloyd, but that sounds like a valid tip. John B.
