Ok, I will make a call on spacers. Let me know when you get a quote on some shafts.

Those Fridges are amazing. I never had a problem with that unit. The lining is a mess because a fuel can spilled while in Baja. I have to say, I know the numbers dont betray it, but the newer Fridges seem to suck down more juice for some reason

1996 SR From the Area 51 Skunk Works. 37"BFG Tires, 5" lift, Rock Track 4:1 Case, Tom Woods Drive Shafts, Oasis Air, Front ARB, lifted gas tank, T-max winch and lots of stuff that cost too much.

Ok, I see lots of references to 1.25" and 1.5" spacers. All over ebay for 140.00 a set. Must have been a recent liquidation of these suckers. How about it, 1.5" enough?

1.5" should be enough and give it a good stance. We should check to make sure the spacers don't require a special lug nut or anything, or at least come with the hardware to adapt the spacer to the stock spindle. If not I have a kick hardware store down the road from here.

Also, Whats the situation with the 4:90's. Are we gonna be putting these in if we find some? I know Pat and I found a set that would work for the front but the Rear was a different story. I will need to double check all of this to find out if the yard still has them.

Measure the offset and backspacing on Lloyd's wheels. That'll tell you if the spacers will be sufficient.

Those are Montero specific spacers, so they should be ok. Just let me know if 1.5" should work, and I will order. Lets do the gears, I cannot see leaving the last major piece un-finished....

Pretty sure those wheels are 5" backspace, I run 3.5" backspace wheels and i slightly rub the pitman arm but my tires are 13.5's

ha ha, not to sound ignorant but I don't know how to measure for backspacing otherwise I would. To me an 1.5" spacer means its gonna push the wheels 1.5" out from there origanal point of contact so if that is basically all we are looking at that should be plenty. Its only an 8" wheel so it should be fine. If anything its gonna be better than running an 8" wheel with more backspacing to just the wheel. Did that make any sense to anyone else . I say roll with the 1.5" spacers. And if they are montero specific thats the way to go. I think it should be plenty.

Engine bay is full and all loose ends are pretty much tied up as of tonight. I just need to throw in the starter is pretty much it, should have been in today but I got side tracked with other crap so... it will be in tomorrow.

While I installed the radiator I went ahead and lowered it. The Shroud went on perfectly and got all the radiator hoses clamped down tight. BTW, is it possible the lower part of the fan shroud that clips on to the bottom at WW's house still. I looked everywhere for it but couldn't find it anywhere. If not its cool I will snag one at the yards on saturday if I find one. Either way that won't stop us from giving it a start.

When ever your ready lloyd I would like to get some fluids to poor into this thing so we can get ready to fire it up. Basically just some Coolant, oil, and we should probably replace the oil filter seeing how its been on there for about 7 years. . Won't obviously be ready to drive but it will fire up and idle so I have an idea on how it sounds, leaks, sensors, different things to make sure theres no hickups. This way if theres anything that we have to dive into we can do it while we are waiting on drive shafts. Which I beleive pat should be figuring out the driveshaft thing this week.

So Lloyd, Where you gonna let me 4 wheel your truck for a shake down run??? I'll be gentle...kinda

Sounds great, I will order the spacers, and then get some money to you guys for fluids and driveshafts when we find out what they will cost.

Shake down run I know your idea of a shake down run Hopefully we can do that like on a Saturday when I come out. Then I can plan some tests over the summer. Who knows, maybe we can still pull off a Sierra Challenge in late August? Of course the Sierras is more like a shake apart test....
