Roll Me Over
|
lloyd let us know when you get the check in the mail for the driveshafts so i can get tom woods rolling on getting them together.
So everyone thats following this knows the toms is gonna be using suzuki S1 flanges to mate to the mitsu axle flanges they take 1310 ujoints and use the same pilot hole as the mitsu so no machining needs to be done to the mitsuflange they are just gonna drill new bolt holes in the mitsu flange so if for what ever reason either mitsu or suzuki driveshaft flanges can be used. on the rubicon t\case side of things we went with the cv style yoke which will need a bit of machining and counter boring to work. We went this route since its gonna give more future options for driveshafts and won't need a different seal that may or may not be easy to find a parts store. The non c/v yoke was still gonna need machining and would only take ujoint straps it just wasn't a good idea and they arn't a normal stock idea either.

Your the man lloyd. thats cool you did that so quick. Pat should be coming over this saturday to get the transfer case all bolted down. So if the shafts end up here then the only thing left before a test run is the tranny mount.

Big day for the AZ crew operation lloyd!
Minus all the running around Toast and I did trying to find all of the parts and different junk we needed. The transfer case is officially in the truck to stay (hopefully) Sealed, Gasketed, bolted down. The Drive shafts that Tom Woods made where spot on perfect. Drive line angle looks to be good to go. Bolts down dead on. We still have the mount issue to work out but doesn't seemed to be anything to difficult. We will also need to create a bracket for the transfer case cable shifter as well.
The truck also did its first test fire... and it started. Seemed to run pretty smooth, I need to test the Idle Speed Sensor to see if it is ok and we need to set the TPS to spec as well, but I will need to enlist jay or pat for that one. Didn't run it for a long period of time but 2 things I have discovered for sure.
1. Oil cooler line either cracked or tore, Leaked a little oil while running.
2. Batteries are no good. The original battery I am being told by Toasty tested bad, and the optima will not hold a charge and is down on Cranking amps. We had to jump it and even then it was very slow. I can use the cash I have here to buy a battery if it makes it easier, just let me know what kind, or color (for the optima type).
LT and I called it a night at 12:30am, after it fired we felt that was a good stopping point. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
