goodish, we learned the hard way that a CAD sport axle does not fit in a montero. You have what i think is the first CAD eliminator on a montero sport axle, we welded the CAD in the LOCK position, cut off the stub, cut off the detent then plated over it and welded it shut. This was all to clear the oil pan becaust the sport has it's actuator on the top side. luckily we had the port-a-band or this would have been more of a nightmare. The front is almost completely together, the aisin dials are soaking in WD-40 because they are gummed up bad and hard to turn. We were able to safely remove all but one bearing between both diffs so that was a victory, the one on the rear diaphram side needed to be pulled off by the outer race to keep from damaging the diaphram that is no longer available. Good progress rough day

Wow, the non-Cad set up turned out to be a pain! Thought it had been done before....

we were unable to find a non cad unit local with a 4.90 for a good price so we had to pickup a cad diff BUT the sport cad axle has the actuator on top of the axle into the diff vers the montero cad set which has it on the rear, this difference makes for cleanance issues so we had to make the diff into a non cad diff with help from the porta band and a welder. so front end is pretty much back together now passenger side brake caliper has some issue with the threads kevin is gonna give you a call.

This is the part number of the bearing we were not able to salvage.

MR196898

The dealer can no longer order this part, discontinued. Otherwise I was gonna have you call the local dealer for us so it would only take a few days for us to get. That obviously wont work now. If you want the genuine part then were gonna have to order through Mitsubishiparts.net again. Which is no biggie just gonna take a little longer to get here.

Looked for a Timken cross referenced bearing, but no luck.

BUT, I do find a Dodge bearing that MAY be an equivalent bearing, same size and description in ASA as well. Part number is: MR453231. Online search shows $30 for the part. Might want to call a few Dodge dealers in the area to see if they might have the part in stock, and if they can confirm compatibility.

$85 bucks for this bearing. I'll get it ordered but it may have to wait a week or so.
