How did it go, idle surge asside? What about a sticky injector on the idle surge? How about an injector cleaning? I hate to say it if that were to be it the off the shelf stuff won't do it, we would be looking at a jiffy lube trip...

Truck is getting there lloyd, all went well over all. Truck seems to run outstanding, lifter noise quieted down when we got it on the road for a long stretch. Probably the furthest its drove in the last several years. We did discover a leak out of the rear diff though. Pinion seal isn't holding. Were gonna need to replace that other than that everything else went just fine. Speedo gauge reads real accurate too. We are slowly inching away at it. I think the idle surge is gonna be a bit of a challange for us though. While we continue to chop away at other projects we need to keep brain storming that problem.

Here is a checklist that I have.

- Breather tub for transfer case
- Breather for front diff
- Run air line for front ARB and install switch
- finish wiring up compressor and mount it up
- Weld rear bumper
- install skid plates
- Fab up 4wd shifter box to fit montero
- Getto alignment
- Final adjustment to torsion bars
- figure out high idle issue
- Coil spacers
- Install new pinion seal

The list is a tad shorter with one more that I've added to it for the pinion seal. I should have suggested replacing that originally due to the fact that we removed that pinion flange 2 or 3 times. That seal was bound to get messed up.

MR580530 Pinion Seal is $17.17 + Tax from the dealer Only should take them 3 to 5 days to get it in. Rock auto show's they have one for it for like 5 bucks but it lists the 8" and 9" axles. Nothing specific to the 9.5" axle.

At this point the truck needs to go to adams, we need you to get some of the compressor bracket stuff fixed up so we know where how were gonna run the power and hook up the pressure switch and arb stuff. Can I get it dropped off this week?

WHAT UP!

This place is quiet. I ordered that pinion seal for your truck lloyd, part will be here on Monday. I REALLY need to get this truck over to you adam, Maybe this weekend we can do some switch-o-roo action. I may need to drive the truck over to your house and have you give me a ride home or something of that nature. I can do the pinion seal at your house some time or I can get it to you and you can just slap it in. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

BTW, after pat talked to some people, we are leaning toward your ECU being bad. Still kind of a guess but we have tried everything else so far.

Just a thought, but maybe we just need to reset the TPS and drive the truck more. I just replaced my ISC this past weekend after mine crapped out. Had a high idle problem after I changed it (1800rpm). Took a full 2 days for the computer to adjust, and now the truck idles fine. After that I had to adjust my TPS, because after reading the FSM again, I've been doing it slightly wrong, but close enough for it to work. Then the truck threw codes for the MAF, but that's my fault. Air filter was severely clogged, and the MAF was dirty. New filter, and some MAF cleaner cleared the codes after driving about 40 minutes. Food for thought.

It is, I agree. The truck is right there. Gonna get it over to adams to weld what needs it, then wiring. 2 solid days of work left and we should be good. Maybe we need to set a date for you to come out and we will just have no choice but to be done. It will force all of us into overnighters and whatever it takes at this point. List is small no reason we can't make it happen.

Wanna come by tomorrow afternoon Jay? Maybe we can just reset it and take it for a long drive somewhere. And then drop it at adams to let him get to work on it. Thats our only hope at this point without buying a ECU and crossing our fingers.
