Jay, any insights you can share?

Ray, seems I missed this post. As far as testing the TPS, it requires a data link connector, which I don't have, but setting the TPS is pretty easy now that I re-read the procedure. I was doing it incorrectly before.

1. Unplug the connector to the TPS, and break the two 8mm bolts loose holding the TPS in position, far enough that the TPS can be rotated.

2. Rotate the TPS as far clockwise as the slots will allow it to turn. (Clockwise = imagine sitting in the truck, looking at the back of the TPS, not from the front)

3. Connect a voltmeter to pins one and two. (Black lead to Pin 1, Red lead to Pin 2. Pin 1 is closest to you while facing the passenger fender). Use the "continuity" setting on the volt meter, if you have that setting. Mine beeps when there is continuity, stops beeping when continuity is broken.

4. Turn the TPS counter-clockwise until continuity is JUST broken. No more, no less.

5. Lock down the two 8mm bolts in this position. Reconnect TPS connector.

I had mine set up wrong before, but now that I've corrected it, it got rid of a strange transmission issue I was having, that I thought was unrelated. Runs better than ever now, except I have a MAF that's on its way out. Hope this helps.
