Body Damage is Cool
Lloyd, do a body lift on it before you bring it. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />. I'm just thinking it would be cool if it happened. Just thought it would make life easier on certain things.

I think the plan is to do the body lift at the same time as the swap. You guys know better what parts we will need for that. What dealer parts should I order? Rear freeze plug and main seal were discussed. Anything else?

Just order up a Roger Brown body lift. Support the cause and all. You won't need any more parts for that aspect.

Ok, will do. What size, 2" or 3" body lift? Also ordered the Tacoma sliders as well yesterday. Getting the cheap stuff for now...

Lloyd, my Trail Gear sliders, originally made for Toyota Tacomas, I believe, are 67" overall. Although they might not be the style you want (they don't have the kick-outs at the rear), they are tough as heck. Although mine have taken something of a beating, and they are scratched, they don't have one dent in them. They're made from very tough steel and are drawn-over-mandrel (DOM). I only have three legs connecting to them frame and they haven't moved or flexed either.

I only have experience with a two inch body lift and installation thereof. There may be more work with a three inch, I don't know. I'm happy with 2" myself.

I know, huh? A year later and I don't think Ray has his on yet!

If Toasty is welding yours on, it's going to be as close to perfect as it gets.
