You won't have to take any accessories off to work on the top end for now. Just the upper intake plenum, so you can get it out of your way to remove the valve covers and such. Good write up here to get you started anyway.

I think what I will do later is post a You Tube video, easier then posting a photo here and that should give a better feel for what is going on.

Bad news already, took the manifold off and heard stuff rattling. Shook it out and similar pieces as found in the exhaust were rattling in the manifold. There are no butterfly parts left, but yet left over metal pieces of some sort rattling around. Sooooo, we have to assume we ran this stuff through the engine. So better plan on head job at this point....But will keep digging.

Have to assume the engine is junk at this point. Nothing obvious in the valves, and since it was breathing a steady diet of metal chunks I really don't see how it could be trusted.

Another update, so we are on the phone and I found metal pieces behind the throttle body! That is not butterfly material. Someone dumped metal in the intake it seems, I cannot even imagine what else it could be.

So we are planning a work weekend at my place to see if fresh heads will do it....
