WW is right even in a 4x4 with a stronger engine than it has axles you can always trust mountain dew to get you thru.

Fun Fact: an empty Mt. Dew can handles more torque than a Dana 30 axle

Went to Silverton again, wheeling the Nissan Titan. Guess what happened? NOPE, you are wrong. The A/C compressor clutch bolt broke, the clutch fell into the fan, which took out the radiator. A run to Durango for a radiator in stock believe it or not,(but absolutely no other parts and tools I needed) some bubble gum and hours in the pouring rain and mud....Did I mention coasting 15 miles off-road to get to town <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> What the heck is it with our bad ju, ju?

That depends, were the cars that hit her damaged? Were any of those cars Mitsu or Nissan?

Had a dig trip planned this last weekend. Been there in Snow, Rain, you name it...But with this insane monsoon season every square inch of land was like a Canadian peat bog. I had someone with an old 2wd GMC van along and it took us 5hrs to get stuck for a few miles in....and right back out. Stopped every one else from coming thankfully. Ripped out a fender liner somehow(while in a lake basically) and killed the Oil pressure senor on the Titan in the water. Sure would have been nice to have had the Montero. No power, but everything else you could want the Titan does not have.

Anyhow, considering options again. I have struggled to find these mythical low mileage [censored] engines, but apparently a place in CA has one under 60K for 1758.00 delivered. This seems the way to go, since we know rebuilds are hard to trust. Get it, replace the key, inspect and replace or gut the butterflies(if any parts missing send the motor back), ect and install it. Frankly considering what it costs even to get enough parts to do a head job....

Question is, is anyone up for a weekend engine swap? Easier then the head job supposedly...I hate to ask, but I can probably swing the engine a lot sooner if I dont have a 3K installation bill to budget in.

Still keeping an eye out. It appears that there are not any more low mileage 3.5 Engines coming from Japan. Those days seem to be over. This despite the fact re-sellers run ads, even on Ebay. Yet I have called many times and only one super high mileage unit was all they had.
