Yes. I am also experiencing the 180 Miles per tank.
I noticed this horrible change in MPG just a couple weeks ago. I can't get my rig to go over 65MPH. Not like I need to, but it's not normal. I also noticed the RPM's are at like 25,000 when I go up hill and down hill and on level ground. What's the deal?
I'm gonna try what you guys are doing in the posts above and see how it goes.

Mine has the same problem, but the cat is not the main problem. I'm losing pressure in two of the cylinders which puts me at 50%+50%+100%+100%=3/4 power.

homerdog great article. I'm going to try that too. Maybe I have a plugged cat too, but the leak down test I did revealed bigger problems up stream.

well I just changed the plugs and the IAC control module. Seems to idle better now anyway. Now I am off to the auto parts store for gear oil and a pump.
When I took the plugs out, all looked normal, except for #4, there was oil all over the threads but none on the firing part. So I am suspecting the valve cover gasket is leaking a bit more now. Time to change it.

I'm going to change my valve cover gasket and the head gasket at the same time. That way I stop leaking oil onto #4 plug and close the gap between #1 and #2.

well I got my milage back. I changed the plugs and the IAC. The fluids got changed as well. I am now back up to 20.5 mph to the gallon. I havent been able to get to the CAT yet, but I am going to be doing a full clutch kit later this week. Maybe I can get to the cat and see whats up with that.

Crawled under the Sporty this past weekend and removed the 2nd Cat. That's not the issue. Gotta wait for the weather to improve to get to the 1st cat. Bummer...

I removed the 2nd Cat and shined a light through it. Every tiny little hole was open without any buildup at all.
The Cat internals were made of a hard mettal compound. Not ceramic made like I'm used to seeing. I jammed it with a rod. No luck knocking it out. would be better to get a straight pipe replacement if this area is the issue.
