That silver truck is a 2nd gen J-top, Now removable hard tops sound better than they actually are. If you?ve ever owned a bronco or blazer you either take the top off forever or leave it on because they only seal right the 1st time I have considered making a removable hard top myself though but only because i think maybe i can do better than Ford and Chevy . Whatever you decide to do good luck and have fun, we can wait to see it

the whole drivers side of the Raiders body is bent from the previous owner laying it on its side in a partial roll over, so I am not going to ruin a cherry truck. And if I really hate the results I can find a clean body to swap onto my frame, or a whole new SWB to swap my goodies into. I personally think I can do better than Chevy and Ford, but only because I have alot more time to wait on a result than they would pushing a deadline.

Have you seen Monty McVs bikini top? A big hole with a couple of bows in it. Very nice, will be doing that with my frame swap Raider/S-10. Maybe he'll post up some pics. Here's my Tonneau Top Thread from way back now. I have the three rear windows out now and have mental designs to make some zip in plastic ones. I will use the rubber gaskets/channels to hold a flat bar stock frame that will have the window unit fitted around it. Zippers all around and they can be rolled up or removed completely. Will see. One of many ideas with few seeing daylight until I finish school (May 2012). If we had the space at the cottage, I could cut it off entriely and take it up there. Make a real simple top for if we're out and it rains. Otherwise use it for fun in the sun on the backroads of NY. Here's another of those ideas. Google Back-flip hard tonneau. They claim to be weather tight. I would like to take and LWB and do similar as with the SWB. I'd mount the Back-Flip rails to the prerimeter of the opened top. Then I'd make a soft tonneau for summer and use the Back-Flip for winter. I'd make the same zip out windows, againg for summer, then reinstall the glass for winter. This it the one I really want to do- likely swapping over the 2.6T in the process.

I can load some pics. Guess the search only goes back 5 years. Forced air montero has a preety clean looking one too. Can't remember if he is able to attach his old Hardtop though.

You can search past five years. The constraint is a five year "window." So to search farther back you have to change the "to" date accordingly.
ForcedAir's is the bomb for sure. He ended up making a hardtop from stratch. Builts it sort or like a stripper canoe. A pipe skeleton (EMT?) and filled in with 1/4" ply, then fiberglassed. There are posts on it.
