I am willing to retract my vote, it works out pretty well either way for me.

It if runs in July, it could mark the end of one of the greatest weeks of my life.

If it runs in August, then I come solo and have a good time anyway.

Either way I end up landscaping a couple of weeks, doesn't really matter which ones.

Should this be a poll perhaps???

I will get my tail out there one way or another, or at least that is the plan.

I like mid August. The more time to add junk to my junk the better.

Mid August for me. I can probably only come up for a day run (like Chinaman's).

Great! Everything has come together in the last couple days. I just reserved 3 group tent sites at Chalk Creek (was Browns) Campground for Aug 13-17 (I'll be there Wed evening through Sunday morning). It's 8 miles south of Buena Vista. This is the same place we stayed at 2 years ago, but I got the larger group sites this time at the east end of the grassy area. There's room for a total of 40 or more tents. Maybe more. We'll have room. The cost will be $5/person/night. So unless you have an RV or you want to stay in a motel, you can just show up in mid-Aug. I'll put the general info on a web page shortly.

Jeff,

Do you have a phone number we can call to make reservations? (I assume we'd need a site for our tent trailer.)

Also, what are the site numbers for the sites you've reserved (assuming they have numbers)? We'd obviously like to try to get a site adjacent to the group, so I'd like to be able to tell the reservation desk exactly where you'll be.

Now, I thnk my next mod will be onboard O2 tanks and masks...

Excellent! I was worried that maybe this wouldn't happen this year.

As you can probably tell we Coloradans love our state and our trails. Come on out and see what we have to offer! This area is full of great scenery and history. If you come you will meet some amazingly smart and nice people. You will also get to see some really cool Toyotas in person. Myself and my junk will be there to.

I'd love to get a group together to go up Mosquito Pass. I haven't seen that trail in a long time.
I don't think you'll be able to camp in the forest behind Taylor Resevoir. I was their last August and the US Forestry Service has clear cut much of that area. The only positive attribute to that is Cottonwood Pass is pavement smooth now.

Here's my trail input-
Argentine Pass (always snowed over when I have tried)
Fall River Road (fun for rock hounds, moderate)
Georgia Pass (easy and scenic)
Imogene Pass (near Leadville)
Blackbear Pass (difficult due to extremely tight switchbacks and narrow roads)
Red Cone (count me out, scared the sh!* out of me)
Hagerman Pass (super easy trail, great views, lots of camping areas, watch for bears)
Webster Pass (near Red Cone, spectacular view at summit, 13,100+ feet)
Pearl Pass (long, fun, moderate)
Engineer Pass (near Ouray, rocky, moderate)
Cinnamon Pass (easy)
Poughkeepsie Gulch (short but difficult, requires at least a rear locker and possibly a winch depending on the season, best to travel with a group, very remote, can include Engineer Pass on same day)
Mt. Antero (difficult due to narrow and tight switchbacks)

I'm ready! I've got all my camping gear ready to go. Let's go, let's go, let's go!

Oh yeah, August is awesome. Hopefully I'll have a job by then. Also, hopefully I'll have my sliders and manual hubs by then, too!

I am new to the forum and just bought a stock 97 4runner with rear lockers. Never been to a Jamboree. but would attend the one in Buena Vista since I live in Salida.
