Gas price is set by supply and demand. You control demand, opec and the other oil producers control supply. The producers manage their production to maximize their revenue, a rational choice for them. You decide if you will pay their price, a rational choice for you. If enough of you decide you won't pay the price, the producers will adjust price again to maximize revenue at the new lower aggregate demand level.

What more do you want? You already pay the price you are willing to pay, you just want to whine about it...
