I know it has been discussed multiple times that a Np231 case will bolt up and maintain the driverside drop of the front diff. What all Tcases bolt up that are passenger drop?

Dana 300 Can do either side but is originally designed to be a passenger side drop. So if you buy one and then change your mind because of finding a deal on a driver side axle you just buy a flip kit for the 300.

If the NP231 fits, why not an NP205 or NP208? These were bolted to the same GM transmissions as the NP231, right?
Atlas 4-speed?

just needs to be the standard 6 bolt round pattern and 23 spline.

All the following should bolt up to the first gen V6 automatic transmission.
1992-2000 Mitsubishi Activ-Trak AWD t-cases
Short input or a clocking ring are required for the following: 23 spline Atlas transfer cases Rock Trac NP241 NP242 with AWD Select Trac NP231 STaK Tcases Dana 300 Dana 20
Personally I think an NP242 out of Jeep Liberty with 4.1 crawler gears would be cool. It has fixed yokes, it would give a great low range ratio and AWD for those snowy days. Down side is it's chain driven.
There are also 2.85 crawler gears available for your current tcase but I am sure your already aware of this. An other option I have been looking into is possibly adding a reduction box between the tranny and tcase. Several companies like advance adapters make reduction boxes that will bolt in, it's just a matter of how many mods to the tunnel, drive shafts and frame would it take to get a reduction box to fit.

Well this whole idea spun off the point of if I might do a SAS and the Tcase swap is an option, then why not look at all options. There are Chevy dana44s running hot and cold around here. not so many Wagoneer 44s, so with that I am exploring other Tcase options. this has been alot of good information.
I have thought about the reduction box, but you are right about alot of work involved with mounts, crossmembers, and driveshafts. Hopefully just swaping out tcases will not require major work.

Just a thought, but what about a portal axel setup? you would get a slight gear reduction and you are going SAS anyway? One draw back would be you have to do both axels. IDK. Like i said, just a thought.

Thats an intersting thought. Get portal axles from a hummer might be interesting. IFS set up and the hubs then run the CTIS would be slick. I bet it would be wide set up.

here's the Humraider on hummer portal axles but i think Volvo portals would be the easiest and most practical/cost effective/most capable. Thats really cool that some one has already done it but after seeing it, not too impressed. The unimog and volvo portals are very nice. They do have something coming out for the d60, it is a portal hub to be inplace of the stock one. I think its $2000 a side. But me I am not wantig to go to extreme been there. i want something just a step above what my montero is currently capable. more than likely d44 front and lower gear Tcase. Thanks for the info. Anymore pics and specs on the Humraider?
