on my 231 I hacked the handle off the shifter, and welded on a chromed steel rod that was bent like I needed it to be. I slotted the floorboard with a jigsaw, and then used some rubber matting with a slit in it to work as the floor seal. Then I got a K5Blazer Boot, and used it to cut out a ring, and screwed that all to the floor.

Very clean. If I had carpeting for mine, I might would consider that route. I think I got most everything figured out now. it is now a matter of having a few clear weather days to work on it to get everything swaped. Thanks for the input and picture.

I will try to get pictures but I have a mcmaster carr shifter and 6' cable to use for my shifting. i need to fab a bracket for the shifter to hold it to the floor and a bracket for the cable part to the Tcase. there really is much of a place to set up a bracket that bolts up to the tcase. i will try to get pictures. I want to see if I can use the factory shifter knob on the new set up. i might have to mod it a little bit.

I'm exploring options. I was hoping to fit some kind of under-drive box like the BlackBox from NorthWest Fabworks. I've been googling for a couple of hours and all I can find is some vague "23 spline" talk.
Does anybody know for sure what are the shaft specs on a gen 1, 2.6, manual KM-145 transmission:
1. transmission output shaft a. diameter b. spline count c. usable/spline length 2. transfer case a. (will be same as above) b. (will be same as above) c. usable/spline depth 3. any other info related (such as what adapters or cases have the same bolt pattern, what model name/number the transfer case is, etc)

Mark's in Australia sell a 2.85 low gear set. They've had 3.15 in the past. Look up Toasty or Josh on Adventure Driven Design (.com), as I believe they're marketing the kits.
