Hello kia forum, first post, been trolling for info for a while. GREAT site!

I have a 1997 Sportage, working on the lift part, then exhuast, but mainly trying to get it smogged right now. Had multipule codes, now only one.

COOLANT TEMP SENSOR - HIGH INPUT

Best i can tell, the NEW temp sensor for the gauge is reading in the 300ohm range at operating temp. The gauge itself picks up signal from 0-60ohms, 30ohms being operating temp. I've verifed that the temerature gauge and wiring to the gauge is functional. Also that the coolant temp sensor is working. Have yet to check the sensor that goes to the computer. From rough "guess-tamations", thats not the problem. Still going to check it though, it is brand new as well.


-Almost forgot to add that the temperature gauge is currently NON-OP, reading cold full time-
