When this first came out months ago, I forwarded it to a liberal friend of mine and to my absolute astonishment, he was support of the government doing it.

Another case of the "ends justifies the means", but instead of it being conservatives, its now the liberals.

People just have NO freaking principles these days. And that goes for both political spectrums. I can't believe how much influence the government can have over people as long as the current leaders belong to a certain party.

Hence ZERO war protests despite massive expansion of the middle east wars and our entry into a 3rd war! Had McCain been elected and done the same thing, there would be riots in every major city.

Same thing here. If Bush or McCain had sent the guns down there, there would be protests and outrage. But because the Democrats did it, the story gets largely buried and unlike the OBL propaganda, which will be pounded into our heads daily for the next few weeks, this one was reported then quietly went away.
