if you put a clamp on the shoes to stop them from pushing outward, you can have someone step on brakes to check for leaks. I would clean everything up real good first. I have never rebuilt cylinders. I think paying for them is easier. Plus if it still leaks, you'll have to buy one anyway. I like new with warranty, but don't know about anybody else.
