Someone on this forum has repaired their PDL solenoid before and posted about it, so if you feel like searching for it and you're fairly mechanically and creatively inclined, that's another option. IIRC, it involved disassembling the solenoid and fabricating some sort of stopper to prevent the solenoid from traveling too far.
