I'm in N Ga, too, in Hall County, and I taught willwinchforfood everything he knows, about Montero's at least, and probably most of what else he knows that's worth knowing.

Between us, we know most all the NE GA roads worth riding. We'll PM you when we go again. A stock gen1 will handle most all we do, easy.

I live in Dawson Co about 5 miles from the Hall Co line. I am pretty familiar w/ the forestry roads in N GA as well as I used to ride a KLR w/ a bunch of dualsport guys. We will have to do a small (or big) group ride.

Nice looking ride.
I don't know if this pertains to the Gen 1, none of mine had a sunroof, but on the Gen 2 the sunroof goes back 2/3 of the way, and stops. When you push the button again, it goes back the rest of the way.

Thanks! No, it STOPS even with the crank tool out of the tool kit. I'll figure it out when I have the time. Thanks for the info though!

I have a Gen 2 sunroof motor. I think they are the same on the Gen 1, if you need it. Free of course.

Awesome find. I'd love to find a similar situation. Being in the salt ridden northeast makes it tough.

Don't ever ever sell it, you will eventually regret doing so!!

What I miss...my '90 and '91 Montero's, but the Jeep's are cool.

I might take you up on that motor once I troubleshoot the sunroof today plus I need one of your faceplates.

From looking at my sunroof it seems to be seizing because of rust and debris. I tried a new motor and it did not seem to help. I think I will need to pull the sunroof and refurbish it and add a new gasket. Rust seems to be a big issue with these sunroofs.
