OK, so this is an Idea.. however I haven't figured out how to get the engine in without smacking the front drive axle housing.

Do you have an automatic or a manual. Here's what you need to know. Basically the 4 cyl MUA5 will not bolt to the 60 or 90 degree chevy engine right away, you need the bell housing/front cover from a 1989-1994 MUA5 from a GM 2.8 or 3.1l engine depending what vehicle it came in. What you can do is pull the whole casing/bellhousing off the front of the transmission. The crankshaft uses a brass bushing which will need to be machined to allow a slightly larger input shaft that the 2.6 engine has compared to the Izuzu V6. That'll get you mated to a 60 degree V6 engine. From there you can get a Fiero engine adapter plate that's machined for Chevy350 engines into the Fieros. With that you can bolt up any 90 degree engine you think you can fit into the front of your truck. I do not suggest a V8 engine, but you could probbably do really well with a 4.3 or maybe if you want to go as far as a 3.8l engine of some sourt. I know in other countries people go for a 3.8l supercharged engine, but I don't know what to source that from here..... a bonnyville or a GTP?

Hope that helps, I'm just rambing though. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />
