The bad part is that it's lifted with newish 35" Toyo A/T's and it hasn't really been wheeled Isn't that some kind of crime in your group?

Welcome! Just past New Year's I flew to San Diego, and purchased my '98. One (lady) owner, records, window sticker, and 120K orig. miles, for just over 4K. It took a while to find the right one, be patient. When you find the right one, feel free to ask questions, we'll likely be a wealth of knowledge...

Wow. That sounds like a heck of a deal. I've been looking for several months now off and on just to see whats out there. But it's become a little more urgent now since I sold off my truck a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't expecting it to sell when it did. (Neighbor had a buddy, blah, blah, blah). Now I'm getting pressure from work to get something, so I don't use my company truck for personal reasons. Understandable, but it puts me in a bit of a time crunch. Don't want to buy something else in the interim just to get by for now, then purchase what I want later. Thanks for the welcome.

I can understand about not wanting to resurrect something and it's not a direct match for your needs because of it. It was sad to see it sitting there though, and if I remember right the mileage was somewhere just below 130K too. Oh well, that one in Reno does look interesting, but my question to them would be; "what do you mean, modified to run 33x12.5's?" You know what I had to do to "modify" mine? Have Discount tire install the 33x12.5's. And I have sat and stared at it a few times recently... I think 35's might even fit without any changes either. But hopefully that experiment is still a way off.

I want to keep it forever but owning 3 montero's on 35's is not cheap and i'm starting to realize this might be one more reason why i'm broke. This is my best truck mechanically too but it also is my least modified and that's why i MIGHT part with it. ![[Linked Image]](http://i1093.photobucket.com/albums/i428/sneakyninjaaction/DSCF7921.jpg)

but my question to them would be; "what do you mean, modified to run 33x12.5's?" Yeah, I had to laugh when I saw that. I've done enough reading to know you can run 33's without modifying anything. I was going to mention that if I ever hear back from my email inquiry to them.

Decent looking rig you got there Toasty. I like the bumper. Looks like it could be easily modified for a winch. What are the list of mods on it so far? Looks like a good starting point. I need whatever I get to pull double duty as a DD and trail rig, so I can't get too crazy with mods anyway. I planned on just the basics to start. Body lift, 35's, gears and rocker protection. Got the list from your post here: Gen 2 modsI can totally relate to the multiple vehicle thing being expensive. Over the last 2 years I sold off my K5 Blazer, and my '87 Mustang, and my diesel truck. Cost me a fortune just in insurance, let alone the gas mileage on the K5. Unfortunately they were exchanged for one big a$$ alimony payment, but that's another story. I work in Gilbert, so if you made the decision to part with it, I could meet you somewhere and take a look at it. At the very least I wouldn't mind seeing all of your rigs in person just to get some ideas/advice on what to look for in my search. J

Yeah it would be cool if you stopped by some time to check out my montero collection, I've got some neat [censored]. The '94 only has a 2" body lift, 35's on 15x10's, the front bumper (the winch goes behind it but it doesn't have a winch plate installed) and it has the factory rear locker. Most of my efforts into this truck were making it reliable for the missus to drive.

For sure. Gotta keep the missus happy and safe. Don't need her getting stranded when its 110 deg outside.
So yeah, would like to see your collection someday when you can swing the time. I've read a ton on what can be done with these rigs. Would be cool to see the mods in person, and get the scale of a Montero on 35's. Pictures can only do so much.

Anyone else get extremely frustrated while looking on CL? Over abundance of people that apparently don't know they made a Montero, AND a Montero Sport. So many ads that are Sports but make no mention of it and get brought up in the search. Annoying.
