Hey PA JERO. Yeah, it's been a bit of a mess since I picked this thing up, but I'm slowly working my way through it. Could always use a more experienced set of eyes since this is the first time I've worked on this type of engine. And of course, my fridge is rarely without frosty beverages. I'll PM you my address.

Well,. verdict is in fellas. Got it all put together this afternoon, and no-go. Engine will crank a couple of revs and then bogs down like something is stopping it, then will crank a couple more revs, and bog down again. I'm guessing this means there is too much friction for it even to start = bad bottom end. NOT the news I was hoping for. Looks like its going to be sitting for a few months before I can afford a rebuild.

That really bites. That guy must have just patched the thing together to sell. You could use my old engine to build ahead of time if you want a core. Or use something if you need an expensive part like a crank.

That sucks - been pulling for you from CA.

You're around the right group of guys down there for support though.

That's a heck of an offer, right there. You're a good dude, Lloyd.

Thank you for the generous offer Lloyd. It is much appreciated. It may be a while before I can get to pulling this engine to see what's what, and I may have to bribe the AZ crew with food and beer and Mt. Dew for assistance with that task. I found a machine shop with good reviews in Mesa, so I may drop by there this week to ask some questions. If any one sees any good deals on rebuild kits, please let me know.

I have little room in my garage right now, so some other projects have now just moved up the list in order to make space for the engine and other stuff. I have two gigantic loft beds that I've been building for my kids, and they take up a good portion of my garage space, so that has now become my number one priority. They've taken too long because projects like this truck have come along, so now at least I'll have even more reason to complete them. Thanks for all the support guys.

Dang that really blows...
What did you get, 500 miles or so?
You should send the guy a note, and a horses head!
Better yet, send Vito and Tony ...

Got from ABQ to PHX, and then from my house to Toasty's house and ALMOST home. So maybe 600 miles total. Not a very good return on investment at this point. On the positive side, since it's been sitting since I got it home, my gas mileage has skyrocketed.

I already sent the guy an email with pictures showing the timing off, but no response. Go figure. I may try to find the business name he uses to sell vehicles from and launch a massive negative PR web campaign against him to warn others.

Not sure if it helps but im suppose to get some trucks hauled out of my garage that serve no purpose to me anymore so if you needed to store the truck somewhere it would be cool. Also, we can get that engine pulled out in a few hours. It really isn't bad, just a pain when it comes to getting the bell housing bolts. It might only need a couple of good heads, maybe the block is still ok. I will come by this week to see whats up if you dont mind, ill just shoot you a text.
