Labor I can do. Having access to people that have the tools and know how to machine bushings from materials that are upgrades to vehicles getting long in the tooth? Nope. Thanks for working on this JB. You may be on a path to saving many of these trucks from a premature, built by accountants instead of engineers, death.

Jay - I'm very sorry I haven't had the valve cover off yet to check on that cam for you - still need me to check it? I'm taking tomorrow off work to get caught up on a lot of things I'm behind on... can squeeze a peek at the cam if you still need it.

WW, if that engine still has the lower plenum on it, I would like to keep it. I think you probably will have to remove it to get the valve cover off anyway.

I still need to get a trailer lined up to get that junk out of your way. I'll see what I can do Friday.

WW, as it turns out, its looking like all of my cams have some grooves on the journals. Unless every cam is good in that motor, I'm probably going to have to buy some re-manufactured heads. My engine seems to be in a lot worse shape than I really thought it was. If you get time to check those cams over, cool. If not, I'm planning on ordering up some Clearwater replacements. If the cams in Lloyd's old engine happen to be any good, that will be a miracle, and a welcome change to whats been happening.

If I pick up the engine before WW gets to it, I'll break the heads down quick-like. From the sound of it though, I think the valves had a bit of an interference problem with the pistons on this engine, so I'm not hoping for a miracle save for ya.

Clearwater makes some great products. I've had nothing but good luck with them. What does a set of assembled, rebuilt heads (complete) cost for this engine? Do I even want to know?

Johnny, I?d like to help with some of those parts like the rear axle to my collection and we should break that engine down a little to see what should be salvaged. I think Lloyd still needs the oil pans from it. I can't help tomorrow though, Saturday could work.

Hey Toasty, Coconino is a emission free county (thank goodness). There are plenty of us in AZ that are smog free counties. Maybe we could be your address to register it. Just an idea.

Jinstv, that's a steal! $600 for both is actually amazing for what you get. Unfortunately, you have so much to spend money on besides that.

Heathdog, to be considered an address for registration, I think there has to be some sort of "proof" someone actually resides there. Maybe if he put your electric bill in his name...(I'd leave the heat on constantly in that case...).
